Our History
40 years in the timber industry
1981 - 2002
The history of Lumat Timber Factory dates back to its founding in 2000 by Slavko Lecic, a visionary entrepreneur with a passion for timber processing. Him and his father Danilo Lecic, started as a small-scale sawmill called Maderera Lecic in 1981, the company initially catered to local demand for lumber and other timber products in the surrounding region. Over the years, expanded its operations, investing in modern machinery and equipment to enhance its production capabilities. The company also forged strong partnerships with local timber suppliers who followed responsible forestry practices, ensuring a sustainable and reliable source of raw materials. As Lumat gained expertise and a reputation for producing high-quality timber products, its customer base grew, reaching beyond the local market to serve clients internationally. That’s when in 2000 Lumat was found with the purpose of being the face of all export projects. 2003 - Present
In 2002, Lumat underwent a major expansion, with the construction of a new factory facility to accommodate increased demand and build kiln drying systems improve efficiency.
